Question 72 XLCH is this caused by chain to loose?

The grinding mark where my wrench is pointing. Is this caused by the chain to loose or the counter sprocket is to large?

I have a huge work day today. I will count the sprocket teeth tonight. What are normal sizes?

What's there now isn't necessarily what was there in the past that could have caused that damage.

Many of us, including myself, have moved to a 23 as an "ideal" choice for hiway riding while still having good acceleration in 1st gear. Some go to a 22. Few stay with the 21.

22 is a good choice also. I did not have one so I put a 21 on after 23. A 21 is stock from factory I believe
