Default neutral lite

I have a 84 bobber iron head and the bike is bare to the bones just a oil lite and a tail lite and head lite. My question is about the neutral lite. I cannot find the switch for it and in the manual I cannot find it. I thought bikes from that year had one. help would be Appreciated

In 1984 the only indicator lights were oil, gen, &amp\\; hi-beam.

Older ironheads (1977 on....) sometimes had neutral switches, and sometimes not. This kept the ignition circuit open if the bike was in gear to prevent it from starting up in gear.
The neutral light you are looking for may have been put on a 1984 Sportster but I am not sure.
If yours had one then the sender connection is going to be somewhere on your transmission case, and most likely on the top side. If you see no threaded stud sticking out then there is no provision for a neutral indicator light.......pg
