Also pinion gear do I have to do this to every wire that I disconnect including headlites etc. I just want to make sure that I am aware of different procedures of the gen. I have a98glide and I am not aware of different maintence for this bike. Let me restate what I said regarding removing wiring and flashing the field coils.
Anytime you remove wires from the generator or regulator you should flash the fields.
If you have only removed wires from your headlight you do not have to flash.
If you have installed a new battery or a new regulator you need to flash...........pg
