Default '73 Sportster brake caliper

I am absolutely sick of rebuilding the stock caliper, it STILL leaks! I tried going through JP Cycles book but it took forever just to get close to the brake section & nothing I seem to find works on a '73 model. Anyone got a clue as to an aftermarket caliper that will bolt right up? I appreciate any & all help

Yes, phone J&P. I have heard that their tech support is pretty good.

Try contacting Fab Kevin. He builds brackets to adapt Tokico calipers to just about anything. His kits are very reasonable.

The front brake on a 73 is the same as used on the 73 to 80 FLH. Any brake that works with the FLH should work.

Yep it has been called "banana caliber", it's not very good but it stops bike. There is plenty of options to replace caliber with other brand, you need adapter to lower led.

When I got my '73 it already had a Banana style caliper on it. If I knew how to upload a pic I would show ya. I'm happy with it. I think the mounting pin is rounded out because when I hit bumps it rattles. I guess thats character.
