Correct me if I'm wrong - but J&P is just a retailer. So, none of the parts you're getting are actually manufactured in any way by J&P. However, as a retailer they have a (mostly) good reputation. Once in a while a buddy of mine has received part kits etc. that are missing a thing or two. But that's not necessarily J&P's fault, anyway.

Did you still need a new door? Following this thread I got lost a little towards the end with the press-fit part; is it actually a press fit, or a loose fit? If it is a press fit, and you need a new door, does this door have the part fit into it for you already? If not, then you are back to square one.

I am glad, though, someone found you a door. I admit, I busted my ankle up last weekend, and spent a little time trying to hunt a used one down for you on Monday while I was laid out. Didn't have any luck, though. Good score 70Weight!

Looking forward to hearing good things from this rebuild, good luck.

You can ask from where they sourced the parts, and ask for non-Taiwan parts - especially if it is for any internal engine parts.

this one from JP is Asian. If you want U.S.A. then the Trock door is what Ya want, and get the steel one..Aldamar,sorry to read about the ankle..ouch!
As P.G. says,it IS press fit..from the Company, but, the tranny will work ok if its good and snug..what I would call southern engineerin..something that Mr. P.G. dont do,or advise.
A new tranny (Asian) is 1K...personally I would rebuild this one!

I agree completely with what 70weight sez.......... Rebuild the trans you have. You don't want to try an Asian made transmission!
Not under any circumstance.
They are filled with problems of ill fitting parts.
It takes a lot of work just to make right the wrongs that come with those things.

How do I know?
My brother builds Panheads and Knuckles and he has bought a number of Tedd Cycles (a.k.a. VTwin) transmissions and trying to get them to work is a chore.
So many things wrong that I cannot even begin to describe it.
Easier to just say stay away from those items.

That said, it is difficult to not buy made in Asia parts today. Almost everything is now made overseas. The good thing is they are cheaper that what something made in the USA is, and the overall quality is far better today than it was 5 years ago.
Still, always be careful with buying parts such as gears and shafts.
