Yes it does. This cam plate rotates and is what moves the shifting forks, which move the gears into different positions.
If this plate does not rotate on your machine then you have just discovered why the bike will not shift.
See the procedure for checking the shifter parts in your service manual. This copy is from pg 151.......
well im screwed cuz the shifter fork shaft came right out with ease
O-hhh, that is not good. As you read, the shifter shaft is supposed to be a press fit into the door. Alignment is critical that the shaft is at right angle to the door face.
It may be time to scour Ebay looking for a door with the shaft included. There is really nothing else I can suggest doing about this other than a replacement.
Then of course you can only hope that a replacement will align with the cases. The door is machined at the factory when the engine was built to align the bearing holes etc (line bored) so nothing binds up.
However, it will be well worth taking that chance if you can locate a door.

let me get this right. the shifter lever that SHOULD still be in the case. not the lever for the shifter forks? if its the shifter lever then that is half a motor case correct? right side?

My apology........ I mis-spoke earlier. I need to keep using reference numbers to call out what I am talking about and at the same time watch my words as I type.
Let me start over.......
The shifter lever shaft should be still in the right side case. This is item 17 in the diagram. The shifter fork shaft (item 16) is supposed to be stuck in the door. This is the shaft that needs to be tight in place in the door. I steered you wrong with referring to it as item 17. I should have said item 16.
So, I hope item 16 is stuck tight in your door. Sorry about that. That would be the best news you could give me.
