start with a valve adjustment set the points put in a fresh set of plugs and set the timing with a light like the book wants it done
intake leaks are always a thing to check i would just go after it and re seal the o rings they are a cheap fix -- so far 2 o rings and a set of plugs -- see what happens
I Googled power house plus 17579 hoping to find some tech info or an instruction sheet on setting timing or whatever. I found one for sale on Amazon and a parts supplier with one for sale, but no tech info. I also tried powerhouse plus 17579.
You could do a more thorough search and see if you come up with something. Check Jireh Cycles, J&P Cycles, etc.
Post a clear close-up pic of the module so we can read the labels, settings, etc. We can probably figure it out. Easiest photo hosting is at https://picasaweb.google.com/home
I had this happen along time ago on my 72 xlch. the valve guides wore out and the ront cylinder was cold at idle, valve was hanging up. when engine cam back to idle would almost sound like a miss. chased that f...kin miss for a long time. retimed, new points and cond., new point cam, coil, wires, plugs, etc. finally took it in to an old guy at the time , one ride around the block came back and said let me redo the heads. it seemed like every 10000 miles was redoing the guides, finally when all I could get was unleaded and the seats sunk too low I had seats inserts installed. My Daughter has the old sporty now and it doesn't see any use( she has a hugger 883 now). but has a brand new top end. runs like a striped *** ape( as my Grandpa use to say about his knucklehead )
