Thanks Patrick. What a great website you have put together! I bookmarked it and will revisit to examine every photo.
The background shot of Resweber is just the perfect choice in my opinion. There was one of the best riders to have ever sat on a KR.
I have a very slight association with Carrol which I may relate in a story. He was part of the reason for me being able to switch to KRs, but in a distant and truly regrettable incident that happened. I saw him race only one time. I will relate that as well in the story if I can remember to do so.
Wow, that old polaroid shot looks crappy doesn't it? But it's all I have, so thanks for adding it to your site.........Blake
Shot might be crappy as you say, BUT, theKR looks so much more real than any restoration I've seen cause it's PERIOD, as it was, not how we now THINK it was!!! Any KR was only pristine once, when it arrived new at the dealership, after that... mods after mods...
Thanks for nice comments on the site, it'll take you some time if you want to read/see it all!!! I sometimes wonder how I did manage to do it all!!! I've still more to upload, but it takes time to scan and manage...
Patrick...... Thanks for the email links and info regarding Carrol Reswebber.
He would not know me at all as we never met. But his last ride on a KR turned into me riding my first KR, in a twisted way. Story later perhaps. Sorry if I suggested that I knew Reswebber personally, because I did not.
You have developed a really great website! What a service you provide by sharing it with all of us. Thanks..........pg
PG I really wish you would share more. I'm with moon wolf here. This has gotten me completely intrigued. I love listening to these stories of the races back in the day. Especially love hearing all the rules that were established back then. Keep the stories going, that is if you feel like typing them and sharing them.
Patrick, I just got done looking over your site and I have to tell you its truly a great site. It's gonna take me a long time to go through all this on your site.
