Wow....what a great motor. She hasn't run since the early 90's, but I put in a new battery, changed the oil, cleaned out the carb with a little B-12 chemtool and bang...she fired right up. I still havea lot ofwork to do before she is street-ready, but I'm so stoked. It was great to hear those drag pipes roar.
Following the advice of people here, I won't worry about valves unless or until they become a problem.
I wish I had run it past the group before the whole fuel tank debacle. Oh, well...lesson learned.
