Its ALIVE!!!!
Wow....what a great motor. She hasn't run since the early 90's, but I put in a new battery, changed the oil, cleaned out the carb with a little B-12 chemtool and bang...she fired right up. I still havea lot ofwork to do before she is street-ready, but I'm so stoked. It was great to hear those drag pipes roar.
Following the advice of people here, I won't worry about valves unless or until they become a problem.
I wish I had run it past the group before the whole fuel tank debacle. Oh, well...lesson learned.

I'd hang on to an original like that. With a little elbow grease, it will clean up to be nice and shiny like mine...

Those are some beautiful AMF's...
Is it just me, or does it annoy you when people say AMF in the same tone as Metric? Even with the smiley face, to lighten the tone, it still bugs me.
