I am not familiar with the installation details, but i am certain that you do not have to split the cases for that. Some else may be more helpful. What year is the bike?

you do not have to split the cases

But you do have to remove the trans again - i do not know how far along you are with that but the shift arm only sits in a pocket in the selector -- we use a majic marker to mark the correct location and that would be at 3 oclock as you look into the trans

hold it at 3 oclock and mark the top of the shaft on the out side of the cases at 12 oclock so once installed you know its in the detent of the shift pawl

Cool thanks! I will try that. Not sure how the hell to get the clutch drum off since the crank sproket and chain are both off the bike

the clutch hub and the front sprocket with the chain will need to be put on at the same time or it wont happen - you will also need to lift the chains shoe when you install the set up to get it to slide in

you need the books dude parts and service so when you ask a question its not in the incorrect part of the assembly and answers will make sense

In a perfect world.. Or at least one where im not so broke! Lol. Btw I know what your saying about them both going on at the same time since that's the only way it will. The problem is figuring out how to get this damn clutch drum off. Well the nut in the center one to be more specific. Got the outer one where it wont move but the inside one keeps bending the damn sprag or slipping. There's gotta b a better way... Btw appreciate yalls help! And good to hear from ya again mick its been awhile! State of Texas decided to put me in time out for awhile! Lol

Just thought I'd update success removing that clutch hub via. Construction flatbar and the chain tensioner. . Unfortunetly the chain tensioner suffered some injury but I think he will live after some bending/hammering. Now im on to pulling this damn 4 speed tranny to get my shiftrr in the pawl! Any tips are. Appreciated!

Okay now I know got the shifter in the pawl carrier this time but when I try to turn it to shift gear it wont move! Can I adjust how easy it is to shift by loosening the the spring nut on the outside of the transmission?

Status update: Got tranny back in and shifter working so moving onward to do right side oil pump/timing/ cam etc. While I wait on my clutch hub bearing to come in the mail.
