It is amazing what a great job he does at such a reasonable cost. I sent him what could be considered a carcass and he sent this back to me. For my purposes I was looking for a lived in look, not show room new. Works great.
I bought the NOS rear fender section with the 46 in mind knowing the wire channel inside isn't correct until 48 but I wasn't going to lose sleep over that, I can always change the channel if I had to.
I might've missed it in Palmers book but he made no mention of the rear fender sections getting longer over time. I know the early front fenders had a different kick to the rear which was reduced in the 40's. The burgundy section is correct for the 46 as is the fender that came with the bike. Both pieces have seen better days though, the main fender being the toughest looking. and the rear section isn't so bad but I thought why not grab the NOS one and go with that. The NOS fender is correct for 48 and clearly its longer than the 46 because of the rear hinged section. Interesting discovery I thought I would share.
I didnt read this whole thread yet so not sure if it was mentioned, tell us about the RZ please
Sure! 85 RZ500 Canadian bike with 10,000kms on it. Added it to the (small) collection a year ago, love the sound and 4 exhaust tips not to mention the smoke. Pretty cool bike.
