I don't want to give them sum bitches any more of my money than I have to. Do it myself.

Well given that I was 1,200 miles from home when mine hit 1,000 miles, I bought the bullet and went to Rossmeyer in Florida. From my experience, I wouldn't go back there for a damn poker chip. $480 out the door, and took five hours to do it, even though I was the fourth guy in the door that morning.

My dealer could not even handle the PDI properly. Did my own 1000 mi service and I know everything on the schedule was done, and done with TLC. Three bad dealer experiences so three strikes and you are OUT!

My dealer is doing mine as part of the deal. Then I'll take over from there. While negotiating on the new scoot with a couple dealers, they all asked about service on my trade. With it being done by a dealer, it proves that I made the attempt to maintain it and build a good relation with dealer. Sometimes they'll go above and beyond when you need some work/parts right away.

My 1000 went great, no issues at all with the bike and 2 hours they were done. Even took extra time setting in my personal code which I coulda done but they offered. Cost $0 and that's with Syn 3 in to motor, BelRay in the tranny and Formula + by my request in the primary.

Just spoke with dealer 360.00 over here for Syn3. Extra 2 dollars per quart if I want Amsoil. No thank-you I will continue to do my own even for the 1,000 mile service.

if you can do it yourself, why would anyone let the dealer do the first 1 or 2 oil changes and then take over and do the rest yourself? im stumped on this. the warranty is not void if you do the very first oil change yourself. its just not. ill never take my bike for a service to a dealer. dont trust em. never will. now if you cant do it or you dont have the time well to each his own but if your gonna service your own bike, why not just do it right out of the gates.

What is so special, that you are nervous to do it yourself? My last new bike, has always been done by me.

Are they making service manuals? Doesn't the owners manual cover most of it? Are they really that different?
