Paid $160 plus parts. Former service manager at a HD dealer has his own shop now. Excellent work, even took tank off to read the spark plugs. He found a few bolts that needed to be torqued, which he said is normal for new bikes. Otherwise, everything is great. Love this bike.

A parts guy at the dealer I was at today tried to feed me that line while I was buying supplies to do mine. He didn't say it would be voided, just that it was "Better for your warranty if the dealer does it". Not sure how it could be better for my warranty, more like better for the dealer.

The law that makes that illegal is many decades old so even if they try to imply it they can't hold you(or someone else doing your service against you. Just save your receipts.

Took it in for 1k service last Friday.1k service was part of the sale.Had Them put SYN3 in engine and transmission.Formula Plus in primary as owner's manual states.
I will change to Mobil1 V-Twin 20w-50 at 5000,except primary.

See you are in San Jose. I am as well. Which dealer? San Jose or the one in Morgan Hill? Did you have them use synthetic oil?
