I know it comes with the security system, but can anyone tell me if the 2017 Ultra Limited comes with the audible "Smart Siren", or do you have to buy it as an add on? Thanks in advance.
Yep, I bought the audible alarm. I was surprised that it does not make a sound if you turn on the ignition without the FOB present. It does sound if picking up off kickstand.
My old 2012 Limited would scream if turning on the ignition without the FOB.
I installed the audible alarm myself, very simple install. Remove one side cover, pop in place and plug into existing connector, simple.

Iirc, with the new canbus system, the dealer has to learn it to the bike. Then it will squeal like a stiffed ***** .................
I just got the 2017 CVO Street Glide. Love the bike, the ride, the power, paint scheme and most everything about it. The security is nice too, that said I am not diggin the audible alarm. It is cool every time you get off the bike it chirps twice. No problem there. What I don't like is every time you stand up the bike or move it, even with the fob present, it chirps twice or three times, and one of the chirps is VERY loud. I believe it's doing this until the system finds the fob. One would think it would find the fob on one of it's heart beats, but nope. Stand the bike up, Chirp, Chirpppppppp. Try working on your bike in the driveway. Each time you get off, chirp chirp. Get back on or move it, Chirp Chirpppppp.
I would love to hear someone has a fix for this besides cutting the alarm wire.
There is. It is explained in the owner's manual in the security section. There is a sequence of on/off with the ignition switch. Thankfully one of the dealer techs knew exactly how to do it. It made life with the Limited Low so much more pleasant.
hikervt,
You can put the bike in transport mode.
With the fob in range, turn the ignition on, then off....then press both indicator buttons simultaneously and the indicators should flash three times.
This allows you to move the bike back and forth.
Turning the ignition back on will then reset it back to normal after you've finished moving the bike.
