well, you scoured the M8 forum looking for my posts, interesting, i didnt know you cared so much. As others have said, **** or get off the pot. my statements about MY bike are true and will never change. Im in, all in, i own one. Do I love it, hell yes. Am I worried I will eventually have issues? Its in the back of my mind and I will deal with them when it comes, until then, I will ride my M8. David, buy one, dont buy one.... I dont care. You ask a lot of questions about this bike, have you even test drove one yet? Im thinking.....no. I wish you all the best when you finally "get off the pot". Good luck with that. There are Doers and talkers...... so far all youve done is talk.... BTW have you ever ridden a motorcycle?

Thanks to the information provided by this forum I have checked my transmission oil more more in the last two months than in the previous 53 years of riding combined. At some point I'll convince myself that I don't need to do it every day.

No scouring necessary, you made those two posts within hours of each other.

You've replied to posts I've made where I've stated my riding history, so either you have a short memory or you're trying to get a rise out of me. I have been consistent in my questions and comments, and I'm not going to repeat myself to indulge your obtuse comments.

Have a nice day David, I hope you can quell your inner fear and conflict enough to actually go buy a Harley........

For those who are interested, and aren't just being pissy, here's a recap.

I've owned three Goldwings, a 996, a few dirt bikes, a CB400, and a 650. My 2004 GL1800 was sold in 06 when my kids were little. I haven't owned a bike since but I am ready now. I want a Limited and am ready (and able) to buy now however I am concerned about some of the problems I've seen posted here. Not being familiar with Harley, I am relying on the information and advice I glean from this forum. Several members wisely advised me to wait til the 2018's are out, then decide on a new improved model year or a little better deal on a 17.

If you are waiting until all the problems get ironed out, and an outbreak of joy on HD Forums, you will never buy a Harley.

They all have problems, historically. In some order of history, begginning with leaking, to wobble, to crank issues, cam tenstioners, compensators, wheel bearings (or any other bearings for that matter), TBW connectors, now transmission oil transference, you can only conclude that there will always be problems.

We just jump in, deal with the problems and ride, or... buy another brand...

I love my new bike and won't give it away anymore! The trans oil problem will be solved and everything will be fine!

I would definitely buy my bike again. Bike is running great now, HD stood behind their product, dealer gave me a loaner. Happy how it all turned out.

I would not change. Knew what I was doing and why. Still holds. So far the minor migration I had seems to be fixed we shall see.
