Just trying to get the word out so everyone is informed.
And secondly, why doesn't the module come with the wiring harness? This is the most idiotic thing Harley could do. And for $299 the cable should be included free.
Im new to the forum but I thought I'd share my experiences with trying to pair a Sena 20S (Non HD) with the new Wireless Headset Interface module (Whim).
I had been running a Sena 20s connected directly to my iPhone and it sounded great, High Definition quality for music (at least as good as you can get with Bluetooth)
I just bought a new 2018 Street Glide Special and was excited to have the dealer install both the new Wireless Headset Interface Module (WHIM) and XM radio module so I could pair it with my Sena 20s (Non HD version). The install on the two modules went without a hitch. The pairing of my Sena 20s is where things got very challenging. Make sure you follow the pairing instructions closely or it won't pair. (Hint sometimes you have to do un-pairings and factory resets in order for the pairing process to go smoothly.
When I finally got my Sena 20S to pair, the audio and music sounded terrible. It sounded weak, scratchy with hissing and popping. The best way would be to describe it as an AM radio with mono sound. (sound and music not really usable in Sena firmware version 1.6) My dealer asked me what version of firmware I was running and I told him version 1.6 (1.5 years old ) He advised me to update my firmware for the Sena 20S to the newest version 1.7.5
I went home and upgraded my firmware to 1.7.5 and paired it boom audio again. It definitely sounded better, I wold the describe the audio and music sound as a standard FM radio station. It was usable for sound, navigation intercom etc. Music was just ok nothing special. I had to dial down my Sena headset to avoid Clipping and distortion and control the volume through the Harley boom system. I was disappointed with the quality of music coming through the Headset paired up with Boom audio, it definitely was not as good with my direct pairing of my phone to my Sena 20S. I went back to my Harley dealer and let him know about my disappointment with the quality of the music coming through my Sena 20S Headset. He offered to let me borrow a new HD (Harley Davidson) Boom Audio 20S EVO headset to see if it had any better quality sound. I took it home, charged it up and checked to see if it had the newest firmware and paired it up to the Boom Audio system. The HD Boom Audio 20S EVO worked perfectly. I would describe the music and sound as High Definition (HD) . I was getting very high quality music with FM, Sirius XM, and with Spotify from my phone (AM Radio was scratchy as you would expect). There was no distortion at all. I could tell that the WHIM module was definitely optimized for the HD Boom Audio 20s EVO. It identified the Boom Audio 20S EVO on the setup screen and had a configuration menu that popped up to tweak the Headset settings right on the Boom Audio display. (The configuration menu was not available with the regular Sena 20S) It also has messages that popped up on my Boom Audio screen, such as "Low Battery Detected on the Rider Headset".
So I had a decision to make do I keep my old Sena 20S or buy a new Boom Audio 20S EVO. I decided to bite the bullet and get the new Headset since I had spent so much money on the WHIM module and XM radio. I knew I wasn't going to be happy with the lower quality music with my regular Sena 20S. My Dealer gave me a discount on the new headset for all my problems and my willingness to be a guinea pig, so it made my decision a little easier.
So if you are contemplating getting the new WHIM module, the way I see it is you have 3 choices right now concerning pairing it with the Sena 20S. 1. Wait and see if Sena upgrades your Firmware to tweak the audio. 2. Ride with your Sena 20S with the newest firmware and accept music quality that might be lower than you desire ( Depending on your tastes). 3. Buy the Harley Davidson Boom Audio 20S EVO. I will say that Boom Audio 20S EVO works great with the Boom system. Another feature that I like is being able to adjust the Treble and Bass in my headset from the Boom Audio Screen. One last thing I would mention, is that this is a new System (WHIM) and there is a learning curve for both the dealers and riders when installing it, so it's best to be patient.
Good luck in your decision.

I will add if you are using XM the WHIM will cause interference. I solved this by moving the XM antenna to the opposite side of the fairing right under the windshield bolt hole and now get full 3 bars outside.
Done right no short cuts.
As mentioned there is a learning curve. Some setting in the head set may need to be changed to keep some happy.
I did pair my Older Q3 Cardo ones with it they worked also.
