Did they check the main seal? I had something similar when oil leaked into the primary. I would be on the highway and give it some gas and nothing there. Thats how it started! after a while it started running very hot and I noticed oil consumption ( So I thought) Dealer said it was normal to use oil with its hot out. ???? a quart???? Anyway after a few more calls the dealer took it in and after a week they decided to check the primary and opened it up, oil was spilling out, it was over full due to the leak.
Long story, to much to type here but the early build dates of the M8 had bad seals. I read they were on version 4 at the time of my problem.
mjwebb, why are you hammering this guy and also being untruthful when you complained on another post about having to keep your RPM's below 3500 to minimize the oil transfer between the transmission and primary?
