Since this is your 1st HD let me explain that this forum is good for a couple things. One is making mountains out of molehills.
Same thing happened when they introduced water cooled bikes. Guy's had some overflow and overheating problems, Oh, Lord, it was the end of the world on here. HD figured it out, everyone got the bike fixed and now you never hear a word. Different bike, same situation.
Right now, yes HD is experiencing sumping issues, more so on the stage 3-4 kits but it is occurring here and there on the standard 107. I venture to say an oil pump recall will take place at some time in the future but don't let that stop you from buying a bike. Before winter is over the issue will be resolved and threads like sumping will be a thing of the past.
Good luck whatever you decide.
HD never figured out the Failing lifters on the 110 motors. Had issues with them from 2007 through present. Several different lifter revisions. HD had to replace engine in my 2015 CVO road glide Ultra due to failed lifters at 44000 miles.

So HD may or may not figure it out.
So you got 44k miles out of your bike then HD gave you a free motor and you're complaining!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I am. Not like they gave me a motor out of the kindness in their Heart. It was a one year and 360 day old motor cycle, I was barley inside my two year warranty. I was 400 miles from home. If failed on my way to Bikes Blues and BBQ. So, I missed the rally, lost my hotel money, and my vacation.
Now days a motor should last 100K or more miles.

Just reading all these posts and wondering what the riders who been having this "sumping" issue what type of oil you are using? and how do you know when riding you are having the "sumping" issue.
i only have 1,700 miles on mine knock on wood that i haven't experienced this, but then again I've been riding Harley's since 2004 and never had the "death wobble" either

Amsoil in the engine, formula + in the trans and primary.
I wasnt quite sure (sarcasm), but I thought there might be a problem when I stopped at a light after getting off the highway (because I smelled something burning while I was on the highway), I saw a huge billow of smoke coming out of my exhaust, and the bike was making a terrible clatter from lifter noise.
Oil was down 1 qt only 1K after 5K service, and the oil stunk.
Amsoil 20W50 all three holes. When sumping comes on you will have the following: loss of power, heat, strong smell of cooked oil and oil will be low on the dipstick.

Well, I'm not fond of spending 20k plus and watching my bike sit, essentially unridable. While not the end of the world, Its not looking too good with 4 revisions, and still no solution in sight.
In comparison the last 10 bikes ( or maybe 20) I've owned were never in this predicament....as a matter of fact I have never had a bike with an issues that kept it unridable like this except my 1985 Kawasaki 750 Turbo, when I ran it lean running 30+psi through it....
