Anyone having trouble starting their M8 in cold weather? Went on a toy drive run this morning and it was 20* when we left. My 17 RGS did not want to start. I had plenty of power to the starter, but the engine would not fire. After several minutes of trying the bike did eventually start. Anyone else having this problem?

Did you cycle the ignition switch each time you tried to start it? Makes a difference.

No one else having this cold start issue on their M8s? My 3018 RGS wasnt exactly fast starting in the summer. Now that the weather is colder, its really difficult to start. Checked the voltage and its not dropping under 10 volts when attempting to start until after several attempts. It sits at like 12.4 volt when I just turn the ignition switch on. I also hear the occasional loud clank when attempting to start. Could the starter be gone? Or maybe and issue with the spark plugs?
12.4 sounds low for a good battery. I would think it should be in low 13's when not in use.
12.4v at rest is probably about 50% discharged. A fully charged batt at rest will be around 12.7v. Sometimes a good battery will show slightly above 13v immediately after a charge to full but as it sits for a couple of hours disconnected it will drop into the high 12s.
I had an issue starting my bike cold at one point of time......was due to the wrong startup map being loaded into the ECU......the dyno guy loaded the power cam map rather than the Torque map. Fixed as soon as the right map was uploaded.
When starting at 20 degrees the bike has a tendency to flood it self. If it does roll the throttle all the way open hold and start it will start. Yes I start mine often in those temps.
