Default I am challenged with the new bike.....

I moved up from a 16 SGS and now have a problem riding 2 up with my new 17 Limited Low. I totally understand it is a heavier bike especially with the tour pak and now adding a rider, I find I struggle coming to a stop. I have no problem flat footing, I am 5'8 and 155lbs and only have 530 miles on the bike. Added 12" KST's which helps but yesterday, I was challenged. When it's just me riding, I have no problems. I guess I need more time riding 2 up. Anyone else experience this?

The bike is not that much heaver. Maybe u need to lower it some. I am the same size only 200 lbs ya I do have problems moving it back but not stopping and starting.

Did you ride 2up on your SG? You'd probably benefit from some 2up in a parking lot for a few hours. A lot of it may also be in your head since you're not used to the added tourpack and a little more weight. Either way, you'll come out on top before you know it

The bikes more top heavy with the tour-pac. Esp 2up. I had trouble with the passenger floorboards or back seat riders boot hitting me in the calf's. I put on some passenger pegs and that solved that problem. I stopped using the front brake below 5 mph. I use the rear only to come to a complete stop. Made the stop more stable. That front brake by itself will dump you fast.
The thing that helped me the most was picking up the"Ride like a pro" video and practicing.

Having a passenger that knows to keep their weight directly behind you helps too.

Make sure your rear shock Pre Load is adjusted to for 2up,,, and when coming to a stop 2up I use more Rear Brake than Front,,, it's the last 2-3' when coming to a stop that can be challenging, especially if the pavement is rutted by traffic... I was a little more apprehensive with my CVO when 2up, but I think most of it was because It's the most expensive thing I've ever owned.

Explain your concern and fear to the 2nd rider and that may just take care of the 2nd rider then you will be back to solo, problem solved!

Besides the weight differential and especially with a passenger, it's the significantly changed center of gravity that is the issue. Different bike, more weight, higher weight, Tour Pack and passenger...it all adds "up", and up is the key word here.
