I don't hate HD. I think they are backwards and have no engineering talent and have survived on marketing. And have basically got nowhere in a 115 years. Seems like the country we nuked calls the shots at levels HD can't even dream about. Other than complain when they get beat at the flat track or cry for import tax cause they can't compete. Lets see HD can barely build a motorcycle after 115 years. But the competition they dismiss. Builds cars, aircraft, pianos, audio equipment, heavy equipment, the list goes on and on... OOO and those pesky Germans. They seem to fail at war. But there auto's and motorcycles are seen by many world wide as some of the best and they keep growing. But Hd does not even make a side car anymore. Hum,,,

You may have not been following along but this guy is his own worst enemy. He voids his warranty but that's harley's fault.

I have never said that was HD's fault. I said they are Obummer EPA dick suckers. I have always taken full responsibility for putting the FP3 on my bike. HD is the idiots that sent the bike out with over bored cylinders and a bad design oil pump on it. Now throw in there tranny migration. Lets see,,, that would 2 of 3 problems they haven't a clue how to fix.

He puts too much oil in his primary, but that's the manual's fault. etc and etc.

I pointed out a typo in the manual and pointed out in a very bad way of which I took correction on concerning the primary level. Fact is you truly can't over fill it on the jiffy stand and can be over filled in the vertical.

Like others have noted, he wouldn't be happy with a 100% perfect bike.

I'm very happy with my 2017 FJR1300es. I'm also very happy with Yamaha's factory support and ability to meet with the regional rep that has a full name and business card. I'm happy that the bike can be built and tuned to a epa tune and honestly go even faster and get better mpg than stock. Has a completely tunable suspension and braking system, adjustable saddle, windscreen and bars on the fly and retains it's full warranty. And the poor FJR is getting long on the tooth.

My comments are directed to him, not all M8 users. He'd be happier with a different bike and that... is MHO.

I am happy with a real motorcycle. But I will keep the Vintage American modern junk.

Also, if I'm honest, I just like messing with him. He's pretty easy to get riled up. Call it entertainment.

And I look forward to meeting you one day on the road.

Happy Thanksgiving fellas!

Have a great winter riding season!
I get your beef and it's legitimate. BUT, if you've been around these bike then you know it's been the aftermarket that's kept the moco is business. Hell, it weren't for S&S - Harley Davidson would have been gone years ago.

First things first, take that warranty and sit it next to the toilet paper cause at least your *** will feel better after using for it's intended purposes.

HD's are a blank slate, you buy them and then rip into them. The warranty is a hail mary at best and if you read the fine print, the moco can deny your warranty if they suspect you somehow damaged the bike by misuse... "Misuse" can be constructed a hundred different ways.
It's been this way forever, nothing new, Hell, the stock pipes on a shovelhead say "do not remove Calif emissions compliant".

When the AM comes up with a fix, use it, don't go to HD for their JB weld treatment. Yes, we pay way too much for these bikes but once you got them dialed in their perfect.
Those who don't grasp this conception are the ones you see on cycletrader with 1500 miles and two years old.
