Just to be clear, installing the HD stage 4 upgrade has no negative impact on your warranty or your ESP.

After 45 yrs on a Harley, I'm pretty much educated in warranty and Stage kits.

Well then obviously you know better than most that “leaving it stock” has nothing to do with “keeping the warranty”. If you are upgrading with HD components, the Stage kits sold by Harley are specifically designed to keep the warranty intact as a performance upgrade.

I feel the same way..despite not knowing the scope, rate of failure, etc. there's certainly been enough negative impact reported here and some supporting documentation by the MOC that acknowledges it..blows me away they continued to allow these into production with the impact it's apparently having..I'm gun shy to even do a Stage II since my bike is quiet, no ticking noises, clattering, leaks..just runs like a dream..can't risk introducing anything negative that would leave me feeling distraught and regretful..now I have to decide by August if I want to buy the ESP or not..probably see how she does until then and make a game time decision

Stage kits definitely have their limitations but the Stage upgrade kits are the ONLY way to generate SIGNIFICANT power increases AND keep your warranty intact.

If you enjoy and are satisified with basic stock power with a warranty, than a stock bike is your best bet. For the rest of us, 90hp and 100ftlbs in a CVO bike doesn’t cut it. Which is exactly the audience that HD targets their stage kits to support.

To the posters with a problem ,I truly mean no disrespect. As the years went buy it's like the cars you have to much equipment to work on it, and sometimes it's easier to just say you made it you fix it.

Perfectly explains why the stock engine is best for many HD bike owners like yourself. Just not for me and anyone else that's interested in more power in the saddle.

Lots of companies selling HD engine performance components that wouldn't be in business unless there were ALOT of guys that also want more power. HD wants their piece of that business which explains their stage kits and the incentive of keeping the warranty intact by purchasing their performance upgrades over the aftermarket.... at least until the warranty expires.
