That does not mean its as good as Race-tech, or Fox, or Legends, or Ohlin and so on.

Most people really do not know that there is better suspension. Most think any touring bike has good suspension.
Actually a couple mods and springs and the 06-08 forks are pretty good. I would consider them better than Stock M8s.

Now we're back to the Ohlins snobery..

I've ridden all sorts of suspensions. Like tuning them. I know better suspension. Many really don't need better suspension. It's likely the main reason HD suspension has only been creeping up in technology. For myself I find more bang for the buck with a few tweaks.. Choosing from something like an emulator and Ohlins on a bagger, I'd probably pick the emulators. Don't like pushing those bike too fast as they are pretty heavy.

"Most people really do not know that there is better suspension. Most think any touring bike has good suspension."

and

"Many really don't need better suspension."

there's what matters...nobody really 'needs' to spend thousands on engine or suspension upgrades to be perfectly satisfied..especially after dropping $20-30 K on a motorcycles..it gets ridiculous, especially after you've done it a few times like I have..live and learn and wise up at some point

I have never owned a Pre-09 Touring bike, so I do not know. Prior to 09 they were Softtails and Sportsters.

We also don't need a Harley. We choose to have one, or more.

I put 20K plus miles on my bike I use to travel, so though I do not need a great suspension, I choose to have it.

You are correct we do not need to spend thousands on an engine. I do an exhaust and tune on the bike I do most my traveling on. I also have a CVO King that I spent many thousands on the motor, knowing I do not plan to sell it. Believe me its a blast to ride, has power everywhere. Really good on a twisty mountain road. I have zero regrets for spending the money on it, I just love the power.

I am sure at some date in the future I will build an M8 CVO. Most likely will be a 130 inch bike.

Need, no. Sure is fun and makes it more enjoyable.
