Glad my bike is a Twin Cam out of warranty and I have the knowledge to fix or upgrade it as I see fit. I don't anticipate any problems though, but if something does happen, get out the wrenches and go to work. Never have and never will be a slave to an HD service department.

If you take only one thing from this thread it should be....ignore the countess different answers given here and become good friends with a dealership owner and service manager who will not blow smoke up your *** but will tell you what's really up. It can be hard to get on that level of "friend" but it is possible and the real answer is available.

Per ThunderMax, mileage stored in speedo. Put the stock ecm back and the bike is stock. O2 sensors will have to be swapped as well.

I guess the only thing to is if you are worried about warranty is leave it stock or use the Harley crap until warranty is up.

It's that sentiment that illustrates why I wish they would have included the 447 in the FuelMoto cam tests. But they didn't, so we'll never know.

Closest we can know is to use PuttNutt24's SE447 which used an aftermarket exhaust and aftermarket tuner, and compare that to what FuelMoto got from their 114 with aftermarket exhaust and aftermarket tune. Even then, it's not a direct comparison because it's different dynos and different guys running the dyno.

From what I'm seeing on the FuelMoto page, all the cams seemed to have generally similar curves, peak HP from 110 to 118 and peak torque 120 to 126. Compare that with PuttNutt's chart, 111 HP and 129 ft/lbs. That's the SE447 torque cam, and it delivered more ft/lbs than any of the aftermarket cams. HP was on the low end. Seems like what you would expect, right? I imagine that if PuttNutt24'd gone with the HP cam, the opposite would be true, HP would be on the high end of the group and torque toward the lower end.

That's the closest comparison I can find on the web. It shows the SE447 as being generally comparable to the aftermarket cams. But the only true way to know would have been if they would have included the 447 in their overall test; without that, we can't know what variables don't line up. I understand they didn't want to, I don't begrudge them that, I'm just pointing out that we don't have a direct apples-to-apples way to compare them now.

Plus, apparently, if you do the "Factory-approved" hop-up mods, then you increase the odds of sumping and other issues if you try to actually use that extra power that you paid through the nose for.

Screw that!
Actually, its not the MoCo. The MoCo lost a lawsuit brought by the EPA. The EPA fined the MoCo heavily. The EPA is forcing the MoCo to follow laws that have been on the books for 10 plus years that the MoCo was ignoring. If the MoCo gets caught again there are more big fines for them.

I'm not one to defend the MoCo, but the above is the truth. With the size of these motors if the MoCo spent any time developing them they could make a lot more HP and torque and be reliable. Then we would not have to figure out how to get the power they should have.
