I put a post on awhile ago about a engine noise on a 2018 streetglide. The noise is at 3000 rpm when not under load or decelerating. It sounds like a clattering noise. A guy from harley came to ride it at dealer ship and he came back and said he heard the noise but didn't think it would affect the the dependablity so they won't do anything about it.was not happy about it.he said it probably tolerences that are off but won't affect the bike..this is a new $24000 bike. I told him i would think harley would want to find out whats wrong to correct things like this for the future. Guess not.

if it was your purchasing dealership have you both ride a new 2018 Street Glide and compare..providing yours is stock, it should be compelling if there's a difference in yours and the new one..then tell them to make your bike sound like the new one as it should sound
I have had the same experience. I have a tapping noise at 2000-2100 RPM, coming from rocker box, rocker arm. Dealer said they all sound like that, even though my previous M8 did not, it was quiet. I don't have another dealer close to me, so I will just ride it.
So it sounds like the MOCO is sending out their bean counters now to ride problem bikes and deny warranty claims. Doesn't think it will affect the dependability? No, not until the day after the factory warranty runs out!

Your post doesn't make any sense. "Guys from Harley" don't come to dealerships to ride customers bikes to say its no big deal. BTW, congrats on your 21 posts in 9 years, lol!

Makes perfect sense to me. Sounds like the dealer ship road it. Admitted that there was a abonormal sound. An they are not going to fix it because they dont know whats wrong with it or there just plain lazy.
ALSO what does it matter if he had 1 post or 5 million? I guess if your not posting on here every day your not worthy of post and or replys? Come on guys we are suppose to help each other not detour.
I have a 17 and it pings on hard roll on from time to time. I dont like it but the dealerships around me wont fix it. So i will try to tune it out when i go to stage 1. If it comes apart during warrenty i will have them replace it or atleast try and if it doesnt i will put another engine in it. Just part of it. Sucks to spend that kinda change on a bike and run into any kind of issue the first yr or two. After that to me **** happens. But any modetn vehicle should purr like a kitten when there brand new without flaw.
Thanks for the positve replys. The dealership rode bike and contacted harley and harley sent a guy out ride it. I was there. The dealership and the guy from harley said they heard the noise but the guy from harley said they won't look into it that it should be ok. The dealership is great but their hands are tied because harley won't look approve of looking into it.harley is the one not doing their part. I posted this so just because you have a warranty doesn't mean you will get your bike fixed. Sad.
