If you have a warranty issue you put your stock map that is stored in the FP3 back in the ECM before you take it to the dealer as well as either the air cleaner or mufflers, your choice. They cannot tell it was ever tampered with. I know this from experience. If your warranty worries you that much leave it stock, the bikes run pretty good as is anyway.
Unfortunately this is not true. The ECU will absolutely show a log of dates when the ECU was modified. Which in itself is not a violation of the factory warranty. BUT if there is no HD ProStreet Tuner mated to the ECU in the HD records, then the modifications on the ECU could only have been made by an aftermarket tuner which would then give HD cause (actually REQUIRE under the consent decree) that the factory warranty on that bike must be voided.
If there are changes to the ECU and there’s no HD Street tuner on record mated to the bike, then there are very high odds your drivetrain warranty will be voided on your next warranty claim. That’s a reality that unfortunately too many are learning the hard way.

Timberwolf2017, That brings up a good point. Im still curious if dealers are mandated to search for it though.
Late year I read the edit that was issued to Harley from EPA. There was quite a bit about performing various tests on bikes brought in for service during the first quarter of the year. I do remember the tailpipe emissions test as being one of them.
What gets me, is if I go in for a tire change, and they snoop around other parts of my bike and decide to void my warranty, I would believe I have a 4 & 5 amendment challenge!!! Harley, in this manner is acting as an extension of the government (carrying out a mandate) and I should be afforded the same protections, just as if a cop was caught sneaking in my house.

Sad but True. A bikes warranty can be voided during a normal service, not just as a result of a warranty claim.
When you put the original map back in the ECU it shows when it was originally programed at the factory. No trace the FP3 was ever there.
You simply are incorrect. There is a log of every time and date when the ECU was modified. There may be no trace of the FP3 but the changes are recorded. If theres no SE proStreet tuner linked to the bike, then HD assumes the changes were made by an aftermarket tuner.... Voila - you juat voided your drivetrain warranty.... you cant say you werent warned.
When they void the powertrain warranty it's about 80% of the bike.
Can't think of anything in the power train even down to wheel bearing I would even consider letting a dealer repair. Maybe a gear in the trans ....even than I think I would just go to Baker and be back up and riding in a couple days knowing what I have.... Seems like the warranty queens are the ones who get the shaft. ( over and over again) Lol in more ways than one. Never hear Indy engine builders that build way bigger / better steam have many problems and it's cheaper !!! Lmfao

I don't doubt it, but do we have anyone here that this specific scenario has happened to? Other than hearsay I mean.

What is a "warranty Queen"?
Fair point. Lots of warranties voided for aftermarket tuners but rarely does the bike owner point out if the tuner was on or off the bike. Good luck to those that think a flash back WITHOUT an HD SE Street tuner mated to the ECU will protect your warranty.
