I don't doubt it, but do we have anyone here that this specific scenario has happened to? Other than hearsay I mean.
What is a "warranty Queen"?
I won't say the dealers name .2017 cvo SG, Bike had tuner had a motor issue dealer got bike back and sold it at auction. When they showed me the bike with 4000 miles they were still trying to get $34,000 with no warranty. Like I said they sold it at auction. This dealer used to install anything ,now if it's not HD it's not going on a 17 or 18 bike.

My powertrain warranty has been voided by the MOCO for use of an FP3. I installed and ran the FP3 for the first 6k, then dealer installed the stage 4 with SEST, overwriting the FP3 flash. At 12k a lifter failed, destroyed cam and my dealer was required to submit the Digital Tech info during the claim. Previous warranty work, clutch safety switch, oil pump did not raise the flag. Dealer was told they could identify a tune as not one of theirs although they weren't able to state which tuner. I had the V&H Power Dual head pipe and slip ons from the get go, the MOCO would never know that unless they inspected the bike at arrival to the dealer, or connected my purchase history and pics of my bike.
**** is real, my dealer fought, but my powertrain warranty is dead.
Mines gone also. But the FP3 was still on my bike and it's monitoring features were being used as the engine tore itself up. I installed it the day I bought the bike. Dealer knew I was going to install it. Dealer knew it was on the bike when Dick Head Dano from the MoCo came in to inspect my bike. Dealer didn't see that it was a issue at all. Exact words from the dealer owner. " We do this stuff all the time. We are a small dealer in a small town in Oklahoma. They pay us no never mind. " Dick Head Dan admitted the oil pump was bad and that the cylinders were over bored. Basically HD build junk and walk away because they loved sucking Obummers EPA off. I told the dealer to get Dano the butt sucker away from my bike. Get some boxs and we will load my bike up and I will store it till S & S makes a crate motor for it. Had already went out and bought a 2017, FJR 1300. Dealer had my bike for 3 months waiting on the idiots at HD to figure out what or how they were going to screw a customer. Dealer felt so bad about it they rebuilt the engine at no charge. It should have never happened and the tuner had nothing to do with HD's crap engineering and production.
Dano the Dick Head voided another bikes warranty while I was there also. It was a M8 Ultra. It had a FP3 map on it and Dano the butt muncher found it. That owner rode up on a Honda gave all the paper work for the Harley back to the dealer and told them to keep the POS Harley and rode off.
It was a long morning. Do not fool yourself the MoCo can see data the dealers can't see.
Maybe rather than paying the EPA fine themselves HD just passed it on to the consumer? It doesn't take a genius to figure out if you get EPA approval for a motor vehicle and then transform it at the time of sale to a customer somebody is going to get fined.
