Have your passenger tape the noise if you can. I bet you'll get some great responses. There are so many interpretations of a hum not hearing it.

Both times when my engine sumped, there was a loud whine from the bike. The 2nd time I had my daughter with me and she asked what’s that whine from. Can’t say that’s what he is hearing, just an example.

The wife hums and gags,,, the gf just hums... The Harley has never hummed... The Harley rattles, bangs and grinds... And then puts a squirk out the AF. Damn nasty bike,,,,
