Has anyone had this issue with their Freedom Exhaust? I've tried calling their warranty department and I'm not getting a warm and fuzzy feeling here. Anyone have any ideas how I might address this problem or any dealings with Freedom in general. This pipe has 2,500 miles on it and they sell for over $1,000. I'm hoping to get a call back but not holding out any hope. Very disappointing.
I have one as well, but mine hasnt done that yet, but I do hear a slight whistle when I start the bike, so I would imagine something is going on with a weld. This is not the first time I have seen this happen with one of their pipes. If you look at their Facebook page, there are others that had the same thing happen as you. From what I gather, they do not do a good job with customer service, nor do they stand behind their product. If my bike didnt already come with it on, I would have likely went a different route. That being said, they are supposed to have worked out all the issues with their second gen pipe. Please let me know what happens!!
I can offer no clear solution other than to opine of the pigeon crap looking welds and paper thin tubing on that exhaust . If nothing else ,your post will serve as a warning to avoid buying that set up. Otherwise I feel your pain and concerns. Shoddy craftsmanship for sure.
Same here, my bike came with that pipe but I too would have gone the stainless route. No return calls and I honestly don't expect I will get one. I'll go back to BX and see if they can do anything. They use this pipe on a bunch of their custom builds so maybe Drag or their supplier will back it. I'll let you know if I hear anything.
I would be pissed bit if they aint gonna warrenty it i would weld it and if.you cant weld a shop shouldnt charge you much at all to fix it up. Thanks for posting i wont be buying this pipe. I can deal with defects as long as the manufacture stands behind there product. When they dont it tends to drive me insane.

Look at their Facebook page. There are a few with the same thing. I havent heard any negative feedback on their gen 2 pipes though. *make sure to fill out the warranty card*. It looks like they are using that as their out to not help.
No offense to anyone, but holy crap those are terrible welds. Seriously looking at the welds around the O2 sensor ports, a blind waterhead could do better. I've been a welding engineer / welding inspector (CWI) for over 20 years, and was a fitter / welder before that. Whoever made those welds should be ashamed!
