Gotta love that typo

" ho0rk damage that's been hidden "

What is that a subconscious euphemism for, I wonder...

"Sorry, mate, this engine is ho0rked" ROFL!

So... it still did have a problem (even if minor). Gotta admit, year old with 30 miles is basically brand new but had a few test drives. And STILL had a warped intake?

Good that you got the warranty, have fun with her and I hope she keeps running well for you. Treat her like a lady - get on her five times a day and take her to heaven and back.

In case like that, it could have simply been an assembly issue...

I've known quite a few people over the years that bought a motorcycle thinking how great it'd be floating thru the breezes, smiling and waving at friends.

Then, reality struck. The wind blows hard, is full of sand, is cold/hot, is raining, the butt hurts, etc. And so, after a few rides, the bike just sits and ultimately gets sold.

Motorcycling is a tough lifestyle. You gotta have a deep love for the machine to put up with what we are forced to ride through.

For sure, It very likely was if it's only done that tiny mileage.

Sorry to hear this. It sounds like another round of frustrating down time. Hopefully they figure it out quickly.

Time to give the owner a letter and possibly a trade at his loss.

Three weeks without the bike? Time would really drag, if that was me. I'd be so po'd I wouldn't be able to sleep. I look at it this way: I bought the bike and financed the purchase through HD credit. Every day that I didn't have the bike to ride, through no fault of my own, but, rather, manufacturing or design or assembly problems at HD, would be days that I would withhold payments to HD credit. Man, I would just not be able to write a check to pay for a bike that I couldn't ride. I'd call HD Credit and explain what was happening, and let them do what they need to do. If they wanted the bike back, they'd be able to find it in the dealer shop.

I understand the reaction but the reality is you’d only hurt yourself for many years. A 30 day late payment will sink a credit score. It’s unfortunate but ultimately the moco has been paid (by the dealer) and the dealer has been paid (by the bank or the customer) so neither has any real fire under them to get the bike fixed properly

When my 2017 RGS **** the stage III cam after 15,500 miles, The dealer pulled the eng down to the cases. The cam had a lot of wear, the Motor Company advised to replace the cam and lifters, fire it up and see if the rattle was gone. I had 6 grand in upgrades on that bike including the stage III. Never mind I said, you keep it, take all my upgrades less the stage III and put them on that 2018 RGS you have on the floor and knock 4 grand off the sticker. I walked away from the 17 to save myself all the anguish and down time.

Interestingly, They put that bike back together and sold it, the new owner got a week out of it when it seized a piston, he got a new engine out of it.

Me? glad to have walked away from it. nearly 24,000 miles on my 2018, no anguish or down time. (Priceless)
