Service manager called this morning, bike was was put back together with new cam plate, oil pump, lifters, still doesn't sound right, corparate sending tech down next week to take a look.Hopefully they will authorize a new engine
Just so I understand this correctly, you have been dealing with this problem and have not had a bike to ride since September 9, 2018? That is terrible customer service but unfortunately it is also the norm for HD.
I love my two HD motorcycles but I hate HD as a company. Hence why my next new motorcycle will probably be something else besides HD. Nothing wrong with my bikes, but I simply do not wish to give business to a company that treats clients so poorly.
I put roughly 80 miles on it when I got it back the 1st time after a month in the 1st dealership and it gave me issues ,took it to the second dealer ship then,i don't believe its the dealership but corporate that has been dragging their feet, dealer ship doesn't want my dead bike clogging up their dealer ship for all this time but they are stuck waiting on corparate

I agree.... I love my Harleys but have grown to dislike and don't trust the MoCo....
That's why I switched from always buying new Harleys to buying used... Last new one was 2012, and my last two Harleys have been purchased used..
The MoCo is really treating people poorly of late...
I had a issue with a 2016 Primary transfer, long story short it was the service writer not doing his job more than it was HD. Most of the time it's the dealer that will cause a problem .
The service writer is gone now,but while there the place was a mess. The best advice is sometimes the closest dealer isn't your best option.
the dealer the bike is at is the most recommended in this area according to people I have talked too,and the great news is the tech from corporate said the engine had too much damage to rebuild so im getting new engine.Im glad im getting a new engine but still frustrated with how long it took,i still think corporate is the hold up,customer service is a bad joke, not 1 email of acknowledgement of a problem and when I called they said they would call me back with answers, never happened.i hope I can get some therapy time in before we get snowed in,i could use some therapy time

picked up the road king today with new engine, she sounds and runs great again rode about 5 miles in 25 degrees and hit snow so I went back home but things are looking up,shes back in my garage where she belongs
I had a good experience with corporate a few years back. I bought a new 05 Ultra and it had bad valve guide seals. They had changed the design in that model year, so it was a known problem. I took it in and they tore it down and the new replacement seals were on backorder and they had no delivery date for them. I called corporate and the rep said they had no idea when they would be shipped. I knew they hadn't just stopped production, there had to be some somewhere and after discussing that aspect with him he had me hold on he came back and said I will get some overnighted today, and he did just that. Maybe it's just a matter of getting the right rep. Luck of the draw.
