Agreed, but in terms of warranty....sumping and it's repair costs would be the only warranty service on these non water cooled M8s I feel might have been worth retaining it for the 2 year duration.

There is alway the screaming eagle options to retain warranty . Im pretty sure you mod the motor/ecu they are going to dx the whole powertrain with hd its always a crap shoot . I dont think it is that big of a deal turn the clock back to stock . Thats just my 2 cents .

EPA canned maps aren't for me. Had a friend go down that road and the dealer finally tuned it with a tts instead on their dime to get it running correct without a bad hesitation. I guess they had another client who is inexperienced put his bike down due to the same hesitation. Agreement non EPA for me.
While we are on it.....changing out the lifers whilst in there. s&s retainers or oem sufficient? Another glue/bolt to be careful of from reading.

New cam, new lifters. They dont have to be premium, I used V-Thunder lifters when I changed the cam in my M8. No problem with them. I put Fueling lifters in my TwinCam and one failed immediately, so premium is no guarantee of quality.
Yes I would use the S&S anti-rotation devices. I wasnt aware they were available when I changed cams or I would have used them. Yes you need to be cautious removing the bolts that retain them. I will be installing them when I do the big bore this winter.
LS7 lifters in mine no problems 22,000 miles and will be reusing with my 130 inch.
If you go on Summit Racings website the choices for LS7 lifters are almost as confusing as the aftermarket choices for Harley. Did you just go with the Delcos?
Well i just pulled the cam chest apart on mine, another thing to note the crank sprocket is quite slack, as T-man found !
Depends how **** you want to be, he sells a tighter fit one but as with tappet cuffs just better quality items but no history of failures of stock items

Looking forward to getting it open. Definitely seems to be a lot of inconsistencies in these engine when it comes to precision.
I used the s@s lifter guides ,pfft plastic in a motor is just not for me .I also had a bent bolt when i removed the oem guides . I also had two lifter cover bolts strip made a easy job a pita . went for a ride today 50 degrees and it was screaming .
