When i pulled my cam plate out for a cam swap, the outer gerotor (the thinner one) of the oil pump had some oil stiction and stuck to the cam plate when i pulled it out, then proceeded to fall off into the drain pan i had under the cam chest. my question is this- there are some indexing dots on both pieces of the outer gerotor, do those face in towards the case or out towards the cam plate?
the service manual doesnt say, so i am inclined to think it doesnt matter, but just curious if there is a right or a wrong way.
thanks dawg. is there any point in lining up the indexing marks on the gerotor gear sets when assembling it? it seems like they would change with every rotation anyhow?

Nope, the dots are nothing more than designation marks. They have nothing to do with aligning, etc.
