Just a question, if you put a tmax in, put say 15,000 miles on it, and ran into an issue with say the motor. So you put it back to stock configuration, including the ecm, when a dealer plugs in the bike to digital tech, would it pick up the mileage discrepancy and the missing data? Not sure if the ecm keeps a record of dates for ignition cycles etc. Just curious.
It might especially if the BCM also records the mileage along with the speedometer.
As far as I know, the ECM, BCM and speedo all have mileage and stay in sync once they are married. If you have one of the three workig on a bike, with the proper tools (digital tech), you can restore the other two devices and maintain the actual miles. I do not believe the BCM records ignition cycles.
You would think that an ECM removed for a TMAX, and then put back in for some legitimate reason would get the actual mileage form the other dcevices. But, I've never tried that either.
