Been waiting on Harley for 3 years... Had enough waiting. Want to ride. The end.
Well said, I want to own a Harley, love my 2018 CVO Limited, the burgundy sun-glow fade is crazy beautiful, now it's time to take action to keep it safe as HD hasn't done anything in 3 model years. I have Version 1 and 2 of rods. I am sure both work but got the latest because I want to ride! Next stop, Fuel Moto, to get a Big Bore kit along with an S&S oil pump. That will cover engine parts with tight tolerances and a oil pump with dual scavenging. Keep it simple and lets ride.

I can understand why owners of 17's and 18's were giving up. He's had his '19 3 weeks not 3 years. Says he's ridden 3,000 miles in the 3 weeks so he's riding it. The vent kit seems to be the answer so why not let Harley install it?
Maybe I'm just that stubborn! If the first try at correcting the transfer issue on my #2 2019 Limited, it would have been gone.

We don't know yet if it is the answer. We've heard before from a few people of the vent not solving the issue.
So...Why let HD drill a hole in your primary if it's not certain it will fix the issue.... time will tell though.
There are 100s (maybe 1000s) using the pushrod, it's working, and it's not exactly expensive.
I'm one of the lucky ones with a very slow rate of transfer. Maybe one oz per thousand miles. I check the level maybe every 500 miles, and it does steadily go down. I've chatted with the service manager about it but not brought the bike in for an official write-up, because it just isn't bothering me at this point. Once HD gets the certain fix out there then I will take it in.
Of course, with a transfer rate of only one oz/thousand miles that may not be outside HD's published allowable.
I'm happy for you! You spent money and at the same time you saved the MOCO a couple hundred by not making them fix your transfer issue.....
Thanks Red!! I appreciate it. I use my bike, everyday, so I dont have time to take it to the dealership everyday to have the fluids drained and topped off again so I would rather pay 97.50 to not have to do that. Enjoy your time at the dealership homey. Ride safe.....if you can get your bike from the service department long enough to do so.

The "fat rod" isn't working for me. So I am going to let the dealer do the vent kit.
I had transfer at 4400 miles, local HD fitted the deflector, I said I will be back as it doesn't work, 500 miles later I was back knocking on their door.
Luckily there was a HD tech in the store that day and he was carrying a vent kit and gave them permission to fit it to my bike.
1200 miles later and no transfer, I am checking regularly and but do have a fat clutch rod in my garage if the vent kit fails which my says they dealer will fit !

Right on dude....I did a vent on the derby cover, and a fat rod at the same time so I was not sure if one works better than the other by themselves....and now I just put a baker hydraulic cover(which is also supposed to help correct the fluid transfer) on the trans as I wanted a little more adjustability in the clutch.....so now I am triple protected from all this fluid transfer nonsense.....ride safe out there man!!
