I dont think the LACK of primary issues on this forum is a strong enough sample. Just like any particular 2020 bike WITH the primary vent installed from the Factory is not conclusive either, since HD could have discontinued the vent shortly after that particular bike was built.
What is interesting is that the vent kit part # 26500027 is still available on the Surdyke website but it has been removed from the Harley Davidson website. IMO, I think the primary vent kit still needs some confirmation from HD before further installation given the kits removal from their website.
Whether kit is removed or not really doesn't matter, esp. if you can still get it at surdyke...
I check most every truckload of new 2020 Touring bikes that show up (including today's) and vent is STILL attached to primary....
HD HAS NOT discontinued the primary vent to date...

The fact is that the vent kit is no longer available on the HD website. Perhaps there are reasons why it is effective on 2020 M8s but not on 2017-2019. In the absence of understanding WHY it is no longer available from HD (assuming that is a factual statement), there remains a question about the vent kits effectiveness as determined by the engineers at HD.
The kits absence from HD.com is unrelated to any other vendors and their possible efforts to sell their own solutions.

Why can't I find a fuel pump for a 2019 SGS on the HD website?

Kit P/N: 26500027 is certainly available from HD dealers, so not sure what you mean...do you know that its a factual statement that no longer available from HD site? The vents are still on the bikes and the kits are still available, so what are we debating??
I just looked on the HD site under Maintenance > Oils and Fluids..they no longer show single quart or gallon containers of HD360 or SYN3, just the kits that include the o ring and oil filter..so guess they discontinued those

My understanding was that the Vent kit could NOT be ordered from HD or a dealer. If as you say the kit is still available through any dealer, than I most certainly agree with the view that the kit is still the HD recommended solution to fluid migration.

Because it’s not an accessory or maintenance item. You can look them up on a parts fiche and order through dealer or online dealer. New Castle listed below.
