I got this education when my clutch safety switch got funky on me, I was just going to jump it out and ignore it. Can't do that on the 17's and later machines now, there's a mini circuit board in every damned thing that has to talk to the canbus system, kick one thing out you now have a 900lbs paperweight.

Thanks, I will work on those codes. Maybe its me but how crazy is it that a bike wont start because of a potential issue with a blinker. I bought a later model Harley because I thought I wouldn't have too many issues, how wrong I was!

I also cleared the codes and it did diddly squat, worth a go though.

Isn’t the blinker, safe bet would be the mini circuit board in the housing that controls all the button functions like the start/ stop switch and blinkers.

It turned out to be a pinched wire from the kill switch in the kill switch housing. I also went to a HD custom shop and asked about putting in a solenoid start button to bypass the start switch and they told me that you cant do that on M8's as it messes with the electronics.
