Question one of the screws that hold on the little wind deflectors on my RG is seriously buggered you can turn the screw but the brass sleeve that it screws into also turns so there is no way to unscrew it fortunately its the top screw and not the bottom which secures the fairing. There is easy access from the back I can see the brass sleeve turning I tried tapping it out from the back with a punch but I was afraid of cracking the plastic around it is there a way to extract this without cracking the plastic?
Those brass sleeves are crap...not sure why harley uses them. I had one get cross threaded in one of the windshield bolts. well it was the outer one that is made into the speaker pod. Of course the whole speaker pod has to replaced. Thankfully my dealer replaced it for free.
Not sure what to tell you about yours though. Good luck
You do not have to replace the speaker pod. I bugger one on my 2020 Limited. I just got the brass inserts from Home Depot 10 - 24. Simple repair. Post pictures of the packages later

You’ve gotta pull off the outer fairing. Then screw a screw into it...and wiggle it out like you are pulling a tooth. Harley sells a repair kit. Get that...don’t try to do something else.
I had one break off the plastic housing around it, and was able to repair it with JB Weld.

Yeah, they are a POS. I have to do one on my fairing for the windshield, and I was told to only use the Harley kit.
Pisses me off, I did not even screw mine up (oh, I have screwed up plenty of threads in my career) but this screw came out stiff, and squeaking hard when I went to change to my Wind Splitter on the first day. Got the screw out, and the insert was already visibly cross threaded, 2 sets of threads.
When we were on our trip a couple weeks ago, I stopped at a dealer in Central Illinois, and bought the 10 inch Wind Splitter, because we were getting our asses kicked by weather, and I gingerly backed it out about 3 threads, and changed the screen.
The tech there said they do those inserts all the time.
Had the same thing happen to one of the threaded inserts that secure the batwing deflectors.
Couldn't remove the screw from the bad insert as the insert just spun in the fairing boss. Pulled on the deflector and the insert wouldn't budge.
Chucked up my T25 torx bit into my drill.
Gave the screw some high speed reverse rotation while gently pulling on the deflector and the spinning insert easily came out without damaging the fairing boss. Obtained and installed the proper repair insert and all is good.
