I know that I have more than 2K on my Check M8 and there is no even slight hint of oil on that breather filter. I have run the **** out of it too. So far, I happy with the money spent and the results. I have my hose/filter run to the same location as well.

7500 miles on my 2021 with Check M8 and no issues. Mine looks the same as the picture. I also vented the heads to the atmosphere.
Hey Neil- I've got a Check M8 but haven't installed it yet. I gotta find somewhere else to run the filter to...all my trailer wiring is stuffed into the ABS module cavity like a bowl of spaghetti. Any suggestions?
I cannot place my filter into the ABS module either as the PV module is there. I have the mid frame deflectors, and have tucked it behind the top of the LH deflector.
I am sure i read somewhere not to have the filter lower than the Check M8 plate.

I don't recall reading that but if it's true, I'm going to have to move my filter. I routed my tubes up and down and hid the filter behind my exhaust header zip tied onto the frame.
I have no idea where i'd relocate it.

I am sure i read or heard it on a YT video, but i cannot find any reference it, and i wouldn't want to be the cause of unnecessary work. Maybe best to treat that part of my comment as duff info, unless someone else can verify it.

Personally I think if it's not in the instructions then it probably doesn't matter.
I had my vent filter up near the ABS module, with the stock not sealed 2018 oil pump I still got oil buildup and drips, I extended the vent line down from that area to under the frame, same amount of drips. Conclusion - route it down and away if it ever drips it’s not inside your stuff making a mess. The air flow under the bike so far nothing on the brakes, wheel or tire. I see a few oil stains on the exhaust pipe from the drippage blown back. I have a metal case reed valve under the seat it’s dry no weeping, I Hylomar’d the hoses as extra insurance.

So you have a Task Check 8 plus an external read valve?
I did a DIY version, drilled the trans cover, threaded then installed the hose fitting. Punched two holes in the cover gasket. Got a metal reed valve. Hoses and clamps, done. The reed valve is specific for PCV motorcycle use, so far holding up fine. Wish I’d added some oil separation wadding under the trans cover might help with the oil mist going up the hose thru the valve and down/out the exit hose. The valve inlet is on top, exit on the end. Fit fine under my seat in a spot LH fwd of the battery. I did a write up with pics last year. What I meant about weeping, the reed valve doesn’t leak from the cover, screws, or fittings, so it doesn’t make a mess under the seat. Oily mist stays inside and I do get drips end of hose under the bike. Those drips don’t affect the brake or tire so the airflow is carrying any drips straight back with the occasional drop or so on the bottom of the exhaust no biggie. Reed valve, I removed the bracket. Screws were tight needed vice grips.
