This has noting to do with autonomous motorcycles, it is just a way of getting rid of a switch that is not needed.

That`s the kind of stuff people have always done on motorcycles...

If you don`t like the idea, then simply don`t do it.

Looks like a better idea to me.

Is this something the dealer could do?

Will a dealer know how to do this?
They have the capability with the Digital Technician, if they know how might be debatable

I think holding the trip/trigger puts it in ACC mode.

Hot damn, it sure does, thank you for that. Great tip!

For others wondering about this - hold the trip switch down and the ACC function starts up. Press and hold again to turn it off.

Yep, Redbeard was telling me about this with his Diag4Bike. My 2 friends with CVOs both have it this way, I like it!

so as part of the current procedure to get to the menu to reset the maintenance miles I have to flip the ignition to ACC..are we thinking the trip / trigger will circumvent that necessity on non CVO models?

I tested that just now for you. Yes, it works. Press and hold the trip button until ACC fires up, release button. Wait for warning screen to appear on the radio, then press and hold the On/Off button until the service screen appears. Do your business, then press and hold the trip button until ACC powers down. Go for a ride
