i've been running my bike this way for about 9 months now. i have 2 downsides, the first being when i pull into a gas station, sometimes i like to keep my music playing while i fill up my tank (at respectful volume levels of course) and this won't allow that. and the second, if you dally too long on holding the trigger switch to activate the acc mode, you run the risk of resetting your trip odometer. otherwise, i'm all over it.

When I changed out my BCM last August, so I could add HD's TPMS to my '16 RGU, the tech "talked me into it"... at the time I didn't even know what "keyless ignition" was. But I have left it that way ever since, and once you get used to the changes its cool, but I could live with it either way. Should be able to do it on any 2017 or newer touring bike because that is the year they started running this particular BCM (#41000341x) across the line in the touring bikes (with security anyways). Keyless ignition is a setting that is in the BCM, like TPMS, that was ignored, or disabled, on the non CVO models.

In 2016 and older the CVO's had their own BCM (different part number) in comparison to the rest of the touring models. In 2017 HD put the 41000341C BCM in the touring line as well as the CVO's. Each year it gets a new revision letter... I looked up my bike last year, in preparation for adding TPMS, and seen the proper replacement BCM for my '16 RGU was #41000341F, and had it installed.

Now what I'd really like to find is a cover for the ignition switch hole! Just one without the cutout in it would be fine (black or chrome). Then I'd take the ignition switch out all together... because other than to lock the steering, which I just NEVER do, its now useless

Will it reset the trip odo if the display is not on one of the trip meters before you press and hold?

not necessarily the first time, but i've found that if you're too slow on it, it will change from the regular odo to the trip and then when you go to switch it off, you end up resetting it. by not paying total attention, i've done it a few times. if i pay attention, and cycle the odo back to the regular odo before i go to shut it off, then i don't.

This is interesting.....

One thing though. You can lock the ignition switch so nobody can come along, power up the bike and then walk away letting the battery to go dead. How can that be prevented with the run/kill switch? Or the trigger switch? Those can't be locked.

Does the PIN function work the same way if the FOB is lost or stops working?

The TIP reset function calls for setting the run/kill switch to off, then turning the ignition off.. Waiting 10 seconds then turning the ignition back on and the run/kill switch back to run.... Is the procedure the same after the mod is done?

When the fob is not present, nothing powers up. The PIN is requested, but if it's not entered it times out after a few seconds and shuts down.

Yes

I haven't looked into this yet. But I'm sure the process would be the same as a CVO bike, whatever that is.
See above in red

don't know about the tip reset, not gonna go and drop my bike over just to find out...

the pin function is basically the same. if you flip the switch to 'run' the odometer will prompt you to 'enter pin'. haven't tested it to find out, but if someone comes along and flips your switch on, it will go to the pin prompt. if you don't enter your pin within a certain time, the alarm is gonna go off.

That's strange. I wonder if the OE keyless ignition won't allow it. I thought the radio was on the ACC circuit.

Centurion sure comes in handy.

Same here. The Heritage convinced me to do "keyless Ignition" on the Road Glide Limited. Half hour charge by dealer, but they were done with it in about five minutes. MUCH more convenient. I LIKE technology!
