Default Hot 22RG LTD need help

My buddy has a dilemma. His brand new 22 RG LTD puts out so much heat near his right leg he can’t ride his bike for very long. Just had a header without cat put in but it is still too hot for any distance riding. Considering the fan behind the cylinders but I told him I would throw it out to this group.

Suggestions?

that's my vote..I mean, it is a rider comfort device designed to redirect heat away from rider and solve his specific problem

I have a 21. They are all like that on hot humid days. Have him enable the EIMTS. The lowers on the Limited block airflow. The heat is felt is at long stoplights and heavy traffic. As long as he is moving he will be fine.

I have Captain Itch Crotch Coolers on both bikes because they work. I still have a hard time believing the bike gets that hot. Oh well...

It'll run cooler when he gets some miles on it. I notice the extra heat when they are new

My 110 CI threw off so much heat when new I started wearing 1/2 chaps to keep the heat off my right leg on any long type ride. It got a bit cooler after getting 5,000 miles on it but was still hot in stop and go traffic. I got floorboard extensions and moved the boards out 1". This along with hiway pegs help to help to move my legs away from the heat. I swapped exhaust without much change in felt temp on the right leg. I removed the entire vent in the lower fairings and left it open, that let more air flow in.I thought the cool flow fan behind the cylinder was to keep the heat off the passenger not the rider?
Does he use hiway pegs?

"Keep your cool on a sweltering summer day. Engineered to maximize rider and passenger comfort in high temperature situations, the CoolFlow Fan is the perfect addition if your bike is subjected to parade duty, rush hour traffic, or extreme temperature environments. Unlike traditional fan kits that try to cool the engine by blowing air across the cylinders and often onto your legs, the CoolFlow Fan keeps the riders comfortable by drawing the heated air away from the rear cylinder and exhaust pipe, and directing it toward the ground.

Just installed the Hiway pegs last night. And he has always liked my big wide long floorboards and we found a set for his ride. I suggested trying the boards first and then consider the fan. I have a 22RGS now and I don’t notice the heat BUT I don’t have lowers and my big *** boards allow me to put my feet anywhere when riding.

Thanks for the thoughts all

just a question, what kind of jeans does he wear? as in loose and baggy or close to the skin skinny jeans? the baggier ones insulate your legs from the heat more....
