Anyone have a idea how hot the base of the outside cylinder jugs can get? Trying to figure routing of my external breather hose. Stopped yesterday at Colllifower and they had some heat resistant hose and wanted to know the temperature to see if I should use that or would regular hose work. Trying to keep it tucked out of site as much as possible
Just in mock up phase. Plastic tee will be replaced with brass 90 degree. Notice the hose routing. Placement is why I asked about temperature. Just trying to keep it out of sight as much as possible
How in the world do ALL the current vehicles on the road, except Harley?, get away without running a “road draft tube” like used in the 50’s and 60’?
The only reason for using one would be if the rings are not sealed properly and the “blow-by” creates excessive pressure in the crankcase where it has to go somewhere.
Just note what one gets into a catch tank…mostly water (milky goo) not oil. So the engine invests water for a wee bit, then evaporates.
Personally I believe, if your bike blows oil mist it needs better ring seal.
As always, JMHO,
Bob
Opinion accepted but some of us would rather not have hot oily water mist air ingested in our engines. DK Customs has some pretty good videos on this subject. Maybe if you get a chance check them out
I went through all of this, bought heat resistant poly braid fuel line from Summit, stainless fittings and it all worked, but I finally ditched it all for a Trask vent on the trans cover.

It's just cleaner.
I'm aware of it but maybe for aound 45 dollars I can get the same results if I'm lucky. If not that's the next route I'm going to take. Already have the Fueling vented dip stick that seems to not be doing its job.
