The initial start went well and the oil pressure light went out right away. I ran it for about a minute at 1500 RPM or so and shut it down. After allowing it to cool, I was just getting ready to fire it up again when the boys in blue pulled up to my alley... To put it politely, the old lady that lives behind my garage had "concerns" and the cops suggested I wait until tomorrow. But they loved the bike!
Before firing it, I loaded the SE 131 base tune (gotta start somewhere) that's included in the TTS software, after upping the injector size. The software also allows you to enable the oil cooler fan.
I did start it yesterday sans any baffles (sorry old lady) so I'll install them before firing it up again. I'm going to use the louvered baffles to have it tuned before making a decision about selling the quiet baffles.
Thank you very much for the measurements HVYMTL1. I am rethinking which way to go in terms of baffles. It seems like the general consensus is that for big bore builds the louvered baffles are preferred
I did use those for my initial ride and I wouldn't call them quiet, maybe quieter... Anyway, I pulled them and installed the louvered ones to complete the break-in and get ready for the dyno.
Looks to be compatible with the Screamin' Eagle wideband kit... Vtune is crunching the data. Data crunched, applied and VE tables extended. The increased displacement was part of the adjustment. Pushing the injectors a little in fourth gear after completing the break-in, hang on!
Well, I got almost 2 years out of the original battery but it was weak and our cold spell put an end to it, so I opted for a lithium battery. They also had the SE Smart Tune PRO on hand and here I am typing when I should be wrenching!
