Default cammed shifting question

Are you supposed to upshift at a much higher RPM range after putting in a horsepower cam?

Currently trying to figure out how my bike likes to be ridden: (116hp/130torque) - star racing 30/30, spc big bore 2-1

I rarely take it to 4k. Usually shift at around 3800 but i noticed that it doesn't seem necessary other than the vibrations that start around that range. Maybe I'm still hesitant to go hard on it because it's only got 2500 miles on it
edit: i realize i made yet another 'am i lugging my m8' thread. well I did my own research and basically the short answer is yes I am. especially with this cam, the bike should be up there in the range and rattling healthily, otherwise i might cause premature wear.

Are you going to upgrade your injectors also? Some say the 30/30 benefits from that. I didn't, just something to consider.

For myself, I like it, just still getting used to it. Today I took off at a light, i shifted up - then pinned the throttle at 2nd, and it picked up speed like i was jumping into another dimension - i forgot I was on a harley. So I guess it can cruise if you want to, go fast if you want to, and go really fast if you want to. I don't see the point in going any further in my upgrades.

If you're trying to turn on the go fast and disappear. Yes, shift later. Star 30/30 only reaches 120hp/peak HP at like 5900RPM.
Give it a ****in twist and let it rip. You'll love it.
Even with my SE Torque cam i still "Drop a Gear and Disappear" and shift at 5000RPM+ when doing wide open throttle passes.

most of the DROP in CAMS, when review dyno graphs, only do what you are asking...MAKE MORE POWER...in higher rpm situations. based on the graph below, that bike needs to shift around 6200, that alows the rpm drop in the next gear to be on the come up of the power range again.

Wow that's a flat torque cam about 3.5k rpm!

Looks like ~ 4-4.5k rpm shifter to me to keep downshift around torque peak.

Based on that chart, for strong acceleration you'd want to shift so that the bike is turning over 3,600 RPM AFTER shifting. That's where the torque is the best. Not that it makes a massive difference; you've got 120 ft/lbs from 2,000 RPM on up, but you hit 130 at about 3600 RPM so shifting which keeps the engine in the peak torque band should make it take off like a rocket.
