I finally did the breather bypass. I did it a simple way, hope it works. I do still plan on putting the Trask cover on it too. I kept it all inside the breather box. I totaled my 2015 Ultra Limited about a month ago. It had stage 2 & dyno tune. I got a great deal on this 2020 Road Glide Limited with 2900 miles on it. Hell, I'm 63 now, this all stock 114 seems to have all the power I think I need. The little catch can has a filter in it & I drilled some breathing holes in the top cap on it. Thoughts?

Simple is good are you getting any oil in your catch can? On my 103 I'd have to dump a 3 oz catch can fairly often. On the new bike with a 114 ('23 RGL) I don't have the stock breather anymore, but I routed the tubes down and away from the intake, just so anything in the tubes would gravity drain. Also, I don't think it's a bad thing, but I ran a hose out of the breather and to "ground", so there's just "fresh air" in the breather. Because you mentioned it, since adding the Trask cover I have not had even a single drip of oil come out of the breather bolt's hose.

The above is my simple bypass. I check it every 2000 Kms. Ive drilled some breathing holes and insert part of a paper towel. Never seems to be much oil residue, although I also run the oil near the halfway mark on the dipstick. The only downside is the occasional oil smell .🥴

Having the can still inside the Air Box the intake could still suck oil into the air filter.
You'll need to clean or replace the filter more often. The objective is to get the oil out of the intake.

I drilled a small hole for tubing to exit backing plate, to a 5/16 hose ran down backbone. Copper mesh at outlet. I use to be reluctant about running vent line uphill.
No, not unless it’s a gusher. The paper towel in the can catches the oil mist.

I know there are filters, but the vacuum from the carb/heads will create a vacuum and suck more oil than the umbrella valves would pass on their own.
That's why the catch can is usually outside or it's piped to the atmosphere.
