Default Need Advice (I think its totaled)

About a week ago I was making a right hand turn on my paid off 2019 breakout 117 stage 4. I was rear ended by a guy in a truck doing about 50MPH. The bike is beyond destroyed. The front wheel is locked up, the forks are crunched into the frame, the frame is twisted and cracked, the swing arm is bent up, and the rear wheel is cracked and bent, and on top of all of that the tank is destroyed, rear fender and basically the whole motorcycle.
My main question is how does insurance companies typically work? I have receipts for everything, and with gear, personal things damaged, the bike, and the accessories on the bike. The bikes NADA is likely lower than what the accessories on the bike are worth. How does insurance companies handle this?

The really sad part about the bike is the odometer was just making it above 3,000 miles, and the 117 stage 4 was actually just installed with maybe 200 miles on the new motor.

Any advice or help is greatly apprciated

before the crash

at the crash

at the crash

unloading

you can see the twist

Sorry that this is your first post, but glad you were not seriously hurt. It sux how insurance covers a new totaled vehicle. If you don’t have the full replacement rider, then you’re kind of screwed. Maybe call one of the motorcycle special lawyers like Russ Brown.

As this is your first post, welcome to the forum. Hell of a first post and glad you are okay. Did you go to the hospital? Some injuries do not present themselves for a few days, make sure to see a doctor.

Talk with your insurance company as the driver who was at fault insurance company should be paying. You should present all the invoices for your gear, upgrades performance and otherwise.

From the looks of the motorcycle and your description it will be totaled.

What the at fault driver's insurance, you could sue for the difference etc, but you will need to see if it is worth the time and effort.

Good luck!

What is "full replacement rider"? I think I have pretty decent insurance (one of the top insurance provides in the nation), and the guy that hit me also has one of the top.

Skippy depends on how it’s written up. We have progressive with replacement ,as long as it’s pretty new, and also a 10k supplement for add ons or accessories. With this you would make out pretty good.
If you go through other insurance company you will get screwed a bit.
Actually now that I think about it I have been screwed by every insurance company I have ever dealt with LOL
good luck

Wow, how are you doing? If you don’t have the replacement rider I would definitely get a lawyer involved. The insurance companies are in business to make money not take care of the customer.

keep us informed.

Good you seem to be ok. Let Dealer deal with the adjuster on damage. And it should all work out fine provide you had the correct insurance. People get worked up about these things they are pretty much cut and dry..
