My AAA membership is coming due next month, and I am really pondering another company. It costs me $157/yr for my wife and I, for AAA Plus/RV. This is the package I had to buy here in WA in order to cover towing on the bikes. Can I get the same or more benefits from another company? I was kinda confused when I bought this last year, that all states are not the same under AAA, ie; different coverages for different states, with different options.
Does the HOG program offer anything better than AAA, that covers both bikes and cars? Is there a comparison of the two, apples to apples?
My goal is to get the best coverage for my bike, while on the road, and still get towing for the cars if needed. When I checked, Oregon had an option from trip interruption, but Washington didn't. Also, what about when I'm on the road, am I at the mercy of the state I'm in and there particular coverage limits? I've read some posts on here, but they usually turn into a he said/she said argument. I just want the best bang for the buck.
I wonder if hogg program would even varify you if you needed there service? mercedes benz has a program but are known to just help out anyone(mb) no questions asked.
I know your probably looking at the more expensive hog options, but just a heads up the regular one only covers 1 tow a year. i know because unfortunetly i've used 2 already THIS SEASON!
An AMA membership gives you free roadside assistance if you sign up for automatic renewal with a credit card. It covers your bike and any other vehicle you or your family members happen to be in, whether you own it or not. $39/year.
I signed up last year and 2 days after receiving my membership card, I had to have my car towed when the fuel pump took a crap. It more than paid for my membership.

I'm only seeing 35 miles towing. Can someone elaborate on there AMA membership? Doesn't our HOG membership tow us to the nearest dealership? I don't want to have to call two different places to get me out of a jam, if needed.
HOG road side sucks, they will take you to the closest dealer. I live in northern Ill. and was riding in north central Wisconsin, new bike broke down, HOG would take me to Mauston, WI.about 200 mi. from home on Sunday night, AAA took me to Kutters in Janesville where I bought the bike, close to home.I still had to get a motel but when the bike was repaired it was close to home, easier to pick up.
