Motorcycle Insurance DiscussionThis is the place to discuss what type of Motorcycle Insurance you carry or any problems or good experiences you've had with certain companies.
My agent quoted me what he claims is a very decent insurance price. $1200 a year for an 08 Ultra classic AND a 2010 Honda VFR 1200 sports touring bike I just bought. I think this is very decent since I live in Ft Lauderdale and 30 mins from Miami. This is a big metro area and it is more expensive than in the boonies. Also, sport bikes are more expensive to insure.
What do yo guys think? Should I go for it? The insurance company is Nationwide.
Mine is about $780/year for my two bikes. Full coverage, $250 deductible, 100/300 liability, passenger coverage, etc. I live near Los Angeles so I'm not in the boonies either.
Well...
I guess I can't complain I Live less than 40 miles from Chicago and to insure my 09FLHTP and 02FXDXT full coverage with $500 deductible it runs me $169.00 a year.
Btw the way it's with Geico and I have never had a problem with their service.
Full coverage? What does that mean, state minimums for liability or realistic levels like 100/500. Uninsured/underinsured? You gotta be careful and compare apples to apples when you talk insurance costs. Full coverage is a catch phrase that doesn't really say anything. Call around and pay attention to the costs of all the different parts of a policy. Write down all the numbers and ask questions cause salesmen are smooth with getting over on you.
