Buffalo Chip ... best party, great bands, crazy people. Not quiet. Ride all day, then party all night without worrying about LEO. Free pancake breakfast or ride down the street to the Full Throttle for breakfast. Only problem is the few hours of hazy riding in the morning to clear the hangover and the alcohol withdrawl symptoms after 9 days there. You can ship camping gear right to the campground and ship it back afterwards to lighten the load for the ride out there. You can even rent a tent there and have it setup when you get there. Can even rent an RV if desired. There is even a swimming hole - clothing optional.
I asked this question at another forum and No Name City was recommened as being very nice. It's on my listof possibles. Thank you for the great review!!!
Well I'd be lieing if I said the Chip wasn't on the list...lol. I've heard both good and bad and plan to visit but so far I don't think I'm choosing to stay there. I had looked at the pricing for the RV rental...wow it's pricey. If I were going with a group it might be more of an option, but too much to spend individually...IMHO.
Elkview, awesome. Nice showers (free), good food and beer, cook your own steak, close to Sturgis, everything you need and you can actually get a good night sleep for all the riding you should be doing when your there.
You can ship stuff to No Name if you don't want to haul it...... Last year some people had their bikes shipped to the campground along with all their camping gear, they flew in to Rapid City and rode home...
about mail and tent set up I think you should call and ask...
There's info on their site about shipping to them, as well as shipping the gear back after your stay. I'm staying there this year, plan on shipping my camping gear out so it'll be there when I ride in. Will ship it back when I leave as the rest of my westward loop will be spent in motels. Hog Heaven has plenty of shade and excellent facilities, check them out!

I've stay here the last few years, no problems at all. Best of both worlds here. Good partying, but quiet enough so you can sleep when you want.
